Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 vs Note 2, Which One is for You?

Many people are confused about the selection of Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 or Galaxy Note 2.Obviously, these three one are all brilliant phones, but which one is the suitable? We maybe need some comparison.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 vs Note 2
Battery life
For a smartphone, the battery life is undoubtedly the most important issue that we care about, so Samsung Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note 2 and the iPhone 5, which has the best battery?

With a 4.8” display and a dual-core chip, the Li-Ion 2,100 mAh battery battery on the Samsung Galaxy S3 is capable of offering you up to 21 h 40 min of 2G talk time or for up to 11 h 40 min on 3G.Note 2 gets a bigger 3,100mAh battery but with a massive 5.5” screen, that means it just doesn’t do as well as S3.The 4” iPhone 5 comes with a Li-Ion 1,440 mAh battery that will reportedly keep it alive through up to 8 h 2G or 3G talk time. But real thing is that you may get the iPhone over a day and use the S3 less than a day if the data connection is always on.

If you just want to a long battery phone, then choose iPhone 5.

Camera
The second object is the Camera. Nowadays, more and more people are accustomed to use the smartphone to take photos and so the camera is becoming a considering factor when choosing a smartphone.

The camera specification of Samsung galaxy s3 and iPhone 5 and Note 2 is very similar, all comes with 8 megapixel sensors, with autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization and full HD video recording. The difference stays on Samsungs’s smile detection and iPhone 5’s advanced BSI sensor. And according to the test, iPhone 5 ‘s BSI sensor performs better in low light conditions.

So, want a better camera, iPhone 5 is still the option.

Speed
The speed of the smartphones is also the factor we need to note, covering browsing speed, app loading speed, boot up times and various benchmarks prior to purchasing.

It seems that iPhone 5 loads up the majority of apps faster than the Galaxy S3, and it also performs better in browsing speed than S3.But Galaxy S3 isn’t too far behind and the general user will not care about it. Galaxy Note 2 is a much better competitor than both the S3 and iPhone in both loading and browsing speed.

For picking up the fastest device, Note 2 is your best choice.

Display
Now it is turn to the display, the first one we may see when handing with a device.

Samsung Galaxy S3 boasts a 4 Super AMOLED 4.8-inch touchscreen display with 720 x 1,280 pixels, protected against scratches by a layer of Gorilla Glass 2.While iPhone 5 comes with a 4-inch LED-backlit IPS TFT touch panel with a resolution of 640 x 1,136 pixels(326 ppi) and protected by Gorilla Glass. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 packs a gigantic 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD with 16:9 aspect ratio and 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.

Form the display specification, you will notice that iPhone 5 is the easiest to handling while Samsung Galaxy S3 is better to browser webpage, watch video or play games. Also, S3 supports HD, but iPhone 5 doesn’t offer that. Galary Note 2 is the biggest one but just owns the same resolution as S3 and it is hard for you to control the device with one hand, so compared to Note 2, iPhone 5’s versatility is enough to get your attraction.

Others
Processor: Galaxy S3 comes with a 1.4 GHz Sammy’s Exynos 4 Quad chip. The iPhone 5 has packed with 1.3 GHz Apple A6 processor, which performs as twice as fast as Apple A5. Galaxy Note 2 is powered by a quad-core 1.6 GHz Exynos 4 processor. In this term, the Note 2 is obviously the best, but it is just hard to compare S3 and iPhone 5 from the performance.

Memory: Samsung Galaxy S3 gets you 16GB and 32GB now (64GB is available soon) and up to 64GB expand storage and iPhone 5 comes with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions without SD card slot.Note 2 offers 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions with up to 64GB external storage with 2GB RAM while both S3 and iPhone 5 just includes 1GB RAM. Obviously, the winner in this term is Galaxy Note 2.And then S3, the last one is iPhone 5.

Connectivity: Both iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 pack 2G/3G support, LTE-friendly and have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Bluetooth and WiFi hotspot. Galaxy S3 has the same connectivity except for the LTE support. But what iPhone 5 doesn’t have is the NFC support.

Software: Galaxy S3 runs Android 4.0 while Note 2 runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The iPhone 5 runs the iOS 6. About the system, you can refer to the article "The Comparision: Android4.1 Jelly Bean vs. iOS 6 vs. Windows Phone 8".

Also, you may consider the price, but I think it is not a thing for these smartphones and just check out the things above and choose your proper one.

  1. A little stockiness of the iPhone would not matter if it has additional features and a lower price tag! Kudos, Apple! Finger print sensor in iPhone 5S would be a big plus to get rid of the passwords.
