Introduction:
As currently the most successful, most powerful and influential online video service provider, YouTube is serving a billion views a day worldwide, provides high quality online video services on transmission, distribution, display and browsing for thousands of users worldwide.

With strong technology support, YouTube supports a variety of video content formats uploading. Videos uploaded to YouTube by standard account holders are limited to 10 minutes in length and a file size of 100M.

However, the development of YouTube is not satisfactory. YouTube has to bear substantial costs of video bandwidth, and is not given the expected large number of advertising revenue. Now YouTube ads are becoming more and more intrusive. Chad Hurley and Steven Chen have felt impotent.

Hulu vs YouTube
Hulu is clearly less than YouTube on size, however, most of the videos could bring profit for Hulu , while only 3% of videos can bring profit for YouTube. That is only 126 million of YouTube videos can be used to advertise, and this figure is not much more than Hulu’s.

Despite these challenges, YouTube is still the most popular video website.

And so far, YouTube online video rental business has been quietly started three months ago.
