CES 2013: An 18.4-inch Asus Transformer Aio Announced for both Android and Windows 8?

Now 2013 CES is arrived and the mystery devices start coming to the surface. And at present the impressive devices mainly the tablets covering the astonished and large Panasonic’s 20 inch 4K Windows 8 tablet, Vizio’s 10 inch Android 4.2 and Tegra 4-based gaming tablet, the called “impressive outside and inside” 9.7 inch Archos 97 Platinum HD tablet ,the first "interpersonal PC" IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC and others.

But the biggest surprise is likely to be 18.4-inch Asus Transformer Aio, the so-called All-in-One device. So what are exactly the features of this device? Just let’s have a look.

Asus Transformer Aio- Android tablet and Windows 8 desktop
Part tablet and part All-in-One PC maybe the very fresh feature of Transformer Aio. Previously, we have known that the software Ubuntu for Android and Ubuntu for phones can let you enjoy both the desktop experience and tablet performance. And we also know that you can match a touch cover like Surface RT to let tablets like a notebook, but Transformer Aio is the first one that combines desktop PC and tablet.

But the most notable feature of Transformer Aio is probably that it comes with a Windows 8 touch-screen desktop and the detached 18.4-inch full HD display which can be as a standalone Android tablet. That is to say, you can experience either Windows 8 or Android and exchange the system on device. Asus promises that the device can run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a built-in Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and run Windows 8 apps by using "wireless remote desktop technology", Intel's WiDi.

The Transformer AiO will be released in the first quarter of this year with the price of $1,299 with an Intel Core i3 processor, and that Core i5 and i7 versions will also be available. More details are waited to be announced.

When we think that tablet is going towards small, Lenovo and Asus seem to give the new opinion on tablet. The All-In-One is big as a tablet, but it is indeed useful for many of us ,maybe it will be the real replacement of PC. But who knows?
