Lady Gaga's official YouTube channel was suspended hours ago. Gaga has two accounts on YouTube. Except the official channel, she also has her VEVO channel, which has 1.6 billion views and is still available. The removed account, "ladygagaofficial", has 149,010,799 views.
People who visited the channel will get this message: " This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's Copyright Policy." YouTube declined to elaborate on the account suspension event.
According to a statement from Time Out Tokyo, Gaga's official YouTube account was suspended because "she posted footage from her recent appearance on the Fuji TV show SMAP x SMAP. The ten-minute performance featured a medley of songs from her new album, Born This Way, laced with Japan-themed ad libs". A Japanese firm titled "Media Interactive Inc." sent the copyright-infringement claim to YouTube and was responsible for the account suspension.
According to YouTube's policy, suspended account can be restored after the copyright-infringement content is removed. So I think Gaga's official YouTube account will be restored soon.
Lady Gaga is one of the most popular artists on YouTube. Gaga was the first person reaching 1 billion views milestone on YouTube's history. Having 1.6 billion views, her videos are the second most-viewed videos on YouTube. Artist who has the most-viewed videos on YouTube is Justin Bieber, having totally 1.7 billion views to date.
