A lot of people think that "Smile" is better than "What the Hell" - lead single in the same album. Do you agree with it? In terms of charts, "What the Hell" peaks at the No.11 at the Billboard Hot 100, while "Smile" has never charted on the chart.

Okay, back the the "Smile" music video. The video can be logically divided into two parts: Avril inside the white room and outside the room. Inside the white room, the wall was sprayed with graffiti and decorated with some posters; Avril is seen singing and playing a red electronic guitar. She wear green shoes and yellow pattern T-shirt. Her hair is partly green. The scenes are colorful. Then Lavigne walks outside the room; the scenes all turn to black and white; she walk through some unhappy people, pick up pieces of red glasses representing "broken hearts" from them, and put the fragments together to make a heart. Those people become happay and have smile on their faces.

I like the theme of the music video. It's lovely and sweet. The song is great, too - lively, stylish and catchy. I can't stop hitting the Replay button of the video. Looking forward to the rest singles in the "Goodbye Lullaby" album and its debut.

YouTube Journalists Memorial Channel Launched to Remember Journalists Died of Work

Steve Grove, Head of YouTube News and Politics announced the official launch of Journalists Memorial Channel on YouTube. Grove made the announcement on YouTube blog yesterday. "This channel will become a digital version of the Newseum's Journalists Memorial, which is re-dedicated annually to honor journalists worldwide who have died during the preceding year. This year, 77 names are being added to the list of the more than 2,000 journalists who have been recognized for their sacrifices since 1837", as Grove said in the post.

Dance party is so hot in the Internet. It seems that most Pop singers tend to release some dance party songs to raise their popularity, such as recent hit songs LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem, Jennifer Lopez's On The Floor and Dr. Dre's Kush. Pitbull's Give Me Everything was released on March 22, 2011 as the second single off his forthcoming 'Planet Pit' album. I think both of the song and video are very common. Incredibly, the song has peaked at No.8 at Billboard Hot 100. I guess Pitbull must have paid a big money on advertising for the album and song. From the beginning to end, Give Me Everything video shows a dance party in a night club. In the club, there are totally only three men – Pitbull, Ne-Yo and the DJ; the other people in the party are all women, hundreds of women. Three men flirt with hundreds of women - really ridiculous! The video is boring. No terrific dancing, no important or noteworthy thing happens throughout the entire music video. Of course, they just want you to 'give me everything tonight'.

The video is a total loser. The song is obviously better than the video. “the song combines genres of hip hop, pop, and 'Broadway-style theatricality' - exemplified with the repetition of the word "tonight", reminiscent of the song of the same name from the musical West Side Story (1957)”, as Yahoo! Music reviews.

Planet Pit album is said to be released on June 21, 2011. It's really disappointed to know the lack of creativity of Give Me Everything video. So I hope there'll be something new in the other songs of the album.

YouTube Movie Rental Service Streams 3000 More Movies

Salar Kamangar, Head of YouTube announced that the video site was adding 3000 more movies to its movie rental channel for the users in the U.S.. Kamangar wrote a post about the news on YouTube blog on May 9. From now on, you can watch blockbusters such as The King's Speech at home as long as you open YouTube and pay a few dollars for the movie streaming service.

The newly added 3000 movies are streamed via the new partnership with known studios include Warner Bros, Universal and Sony Pictures. New movies available include Oscar-winner The King's Speech, Inception, The Green Hornet, Little Fockers and Despicable Me.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Rentals at YouTube start at $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases. Renters have 30 days to watch their chosen film but only 24 hours to finish once they have begun streaming."

"..you're spending just 15 minutes a day on YouTube, and spending five hours a day watching TV. As the lines between online and offline continue to blur, we think that's going to change", Salar Kamangar said.

YouTube wants to elongate users' stay on the site by the movie rental service. YouTube now offers not only full-length popular movies, but also some extras things include free behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, parodies, clips and remixes from YouTube's unique community of content creators. You can also view the movie reviews and comments from Rotten Tomatoes in the movies pages so that you can decide which movie to watch.
